About Active Kids

What is Active Kids?

The Active Kids voucher scheme has been around for thirteen years, and together we’re proud to have donated over £185m of equipment to schools and clubs around the UK. The campaign is an important part of our commitment to encourage children to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

This year we’re excited to bring you a brand new Active Kids holiday club scheme. The clubs will run throughout the summer holidays, all day Monday – Friday. With all sorts of activities throughout the day like sport, dance and arts and crafts there’s something every child will enjoy, all for only £7.50 a day. The clubs will be hosted by our partners Premier Education, who are fully trained and accredited.

Have you stopped supporting schools?

We offered schools and clubs with banked vouchers the opportunity to exchange them for equipment earlier this year. Equipment should arrive before the end of the school year. This is in addition to over £13m which we donated to schools and clubs as part of Active Kids 2017.

What about Active Kids for All?

Our Active Kids for All Inclusive PE Training programme will continue. We’re committed to supporting inclusive and accessible activity for all children and will carry on working with the Activity Alliance to deliver this training to teachers. I have some Active Kids vouchers, can I still hand them into my local school or organisation?

No, the new Active Kids scheme won’t involve exchanging vouchers for equipment and experiences anymore. Schools and organisations will no longer be accepting vouchers.

Are you still working with the Active Kids ambassadors?

We’re thrilled that gold medallist and Strictly Come Dancing star, Jonnie Peacock and Paralympic swimming legend Ellie Simmonds will be our Active Kids ambassadors for 2018.

If schools and clubs have active coaching sessions or PGL adventure courses booked can they still attend?

If organisations exchanged Active Kids vouchers for active coaching sessions or PGL adventure courses in 2017, they can still use these until the dates specified in the terms and conditions. For active coaching sessions this is 31 July 2018 and for PGL adventure courses, Friday 11 May 2018.

Active Kids holiday clubs

Do the children have be pupils at the school to attend?

No. Any children aged 5 – 15 years can attend the holiday clubs, they don’t have to be pupils at the school but there are limited spaces.

Are the clubs supervised?

Yes. The clubs will be run by our partners Premier Education who are very experienced at running holiday clubs. All staff are trained, accredited and DBS checked.

Who are Premier Education?

Premier Education are an experienced holiday club provider in the UK. All their staff are fully trained, accredited and DBS checked.

Sainsbury’s have partnered with Premier Education to deliver Active Kids holiday clubs this summer. To find out more about Premier Education, click here.

What should my child bring with them to the club?

Your child should wear clothing that they can take part in sports and physical activities in.

  • Trainers or sensible footwear
  • Comfortable clothing
  • A coat in case it rains
  • Sun cream on hot days
  • A reusable water bottle (if you have one)
  • Any medication your child might need

Do the clubs cater for special needs?

The holiday clubs are inclusive and accessible. If your child does have a medical condition or disability please make us aware of this during the registration process. We may then give you a call upon registration to ensure we better understand and can facilitate your child during their attendance. Please note that we cannot offer 1 to 1 support for children in Active Kids Clubs.

The clubs are fun, safe and inclusive for all. Therefore if there are any behavioural issues which put children or coaches at our clubs at risk, we reserve the right to call parents/guardians and ask for them to pick up their child/children.

Do you provide lunch at an Active Kids holiday club?

Yes we do. We will provide a healthy packed lunch for all children attending the holiday clubs. We will also provide fruit and snacks throughout the day.

Please note that we will make dietary accommodations where possible, however if your children has any allergies or would prefer to bring their own lunch, please provide them with a packed lunch.

Water will also be available at all holiday clubs but it would be helpful if you could provide your child with a reusable water bottle.

Why aren’t any clubs in my local area?

This year there are a limited number of clubs available as Active Kids holiday clubs are a trial with the hope to roll out more clubs in 2019.

What time does the holiday club start and end?

Registration opens at 8:45 and the club ends at 4pm.

My Booking

How do I book my children on to the clubs?

By clicking on this link. You will need 200 Nectar card points to access the booking platform. You will be issued with a voucher via the above link.

Is there a maximum number of days I can book for each child?

You can book a child onto as many days as you want. We encourage children to take part for a full week to ensure the experience all the great activities on offer.

How many children can I book places for?

You can book a place for up to five children and they can attend as many days as they want. If you want to book more than 5 children you will need to redeem another Nectar access code and complete another booking.

Can I book a place on the clubs in a Sainsbury’s store?

No. A booking can only be made online. Click here to make your booking

Why can’t I add my child to the booking process?

Please ensure that your child is not registered under a separate email address for yourself or member of your family.

How do I amend or cancel my booking?

You can view your booking here. If you would like to cancel or amend your booking please call Premier Education on 01953 499040, Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm

You have the right to cancel your booking up to 14 days after the day your booking is confirmed, OR, if earlier, the day before your Session is due to take place. If you book a Session less than 14 days before the Session is due to take place, you accept and agree that the right to cancel the contract is lost once the contract is fully performed.
